An International Agricultural Delegation visits NARC

An international agricultural delegation, of sixty women that work in agricultural projects in the public and private sectors from Tunisia, Palestine, Italy and Spain, visited the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) to know more on its experience in transferring modern technologies, agricultural projects and empowering rural women.

The Director General of NARC, Dr. Nizar Haddad, briefed the visitors on the role NARC plays since its inception, conducting scientific research and finding channels for future cooperation with partners to develop and support scientific research by building partnerships in training, qualification and exchanging experiences, that would lead to change, improvement and development of scientific research, to positively impact both plant and animal sectors.

Dr. Haddad said that this visit comes in the framework of exchanging agricultural and technical experiences, especially empowering rural women, addressing NARC's experience in adopting modern technologies, and finding solutions towards the mitigation of climate changes, and finding remedies for water scarcity like non-traditional water, hydroponics and aquaculture, fisheries and laboratory services, tropical crops, and the employment of innovation through the Agricultural Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubator.

Mrs. Narges Hamrouni, from the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fishing in Tunisia, expressed her admiration on the role of NARC towards advanced agricultural research, transfer and employment of modern technologies, in addition to promoting innovation and creativity through pioneering projects emerging in the Agricultural Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubator that embraces pioneering ideas to become real projects.
