The Director General of the National Agricultural Research Center - NARC, Dr. Nizar Haddad; and the Director General of the National Resources Investment and Development Corporation, Eng. Basem Telfah, signed a memorandum of understanding for the purpose of achieving fruitful and constructive cooperation by employing scientific research outputs and supporting national institutions in the common agricultural fields.

"This memorandum of understanding will contribute noticeably towards enhancing networking with national institutions, creating investment environments in the governmental agricultural sector while being adaptive to adverse climate changes, providing these institutions with technical and scientific expertise converting empty spaces into eco-friendly gardens". Haddad said.

Haddad also added that NARC’s contribution with government institutions came as a result of the Royal Prescripts in order to unite national efforts to rationalize government expenditures alongside the optimal exploitation of human resources, in addition to keeping government institutions always aware of good practices and plant varieties that tolerate critical climatic conditions, in cooperation with local and international partners.

On a comprehensive note on the National Resources Investment and Development Corporation, Telfah gave a description of the various facilities, and the places targeted for the establishment of environmental gardens and those for water harvesting, emphasizing the fact that NARC is a source that provides scientific research with unique experiences through which NARC can support the Corporation with training, and aid in qualifying and improving infrastructure.

Telfah added that the Corporation is looking forward to making a strategic partnership with NARC through the scientific position enjoyed by it and its ability to attract pioneering projects that meet the real needs of the agricultural sector.
