An Advanced Course in Excellence & Performance Management convened at NARC

Dr. Nizar Haddad, the Director General of NARC patronized the opening of an advanced course that lasts for 5 days on "Functional Excellence and Performance Management" in cooperation with the Institute of Public Administration.

During the opening ceremony, Haddad said that this course contributes to the qualification and training of technical and administrative staff working at NARC. 'It deals with some concepts and terminologies that are related to efficiency, excellence and effectiveness and the compatibility of outputs with the objectives, vision and mission set for NARC. Not to forget that the optimal use of available inputs and resources through excellence in performance, in addition to the efficient provision of services meet and exceed the needs and expectations of service recepients and stakeholders, through the methodologies and mechanisms of work applied within an environment of continuous improvement in all aspects of performance'. Haddad stated.

He also added that this course will enable participants to increase the opportunities of progress, briefing them on the criteria and concepts of the excellence award.

The Director of Human Resources' Directorate at NARC, Mrs. Ferial Arabiyat, pointed out some of the topics covered in the course, like the evolution of the concept of excellence, the criteria of King Abdullah II Award, the radar logic, performance indicators, risk management, employee performance excellence for the government ideal employee award.

Dr. Khalil Al Mashaqbeh, a lecturer from the Institute of Public Administration and an accredited assessor of King Abdullah II Award for Excellence and Transparency, elaborated that this course is aimed to inform the participants on the concept of institutional excellence and its role in developing institutional performance, in addition to identifying the influence of excellence awards towards improving performance for public & private institutions, encouraging trainees to apply for the award on a competitive basis.
